The terms “mobility” and “limbering” are often used these days. In ST, we regard these kinds of movements as being the best way to incorporate your new flexibility into your movement patterns—this is a process of embodiment, literally.

This is the second part *** of a longer session we shot live on a 2016 workshop in the Monkey Gym at ST HQ in Greenwell Point, and this shows you a variety of bodies doing the movements.

Contents:

Contents:

- Wide leg squat
- Full squat
- Whole body lateral circles
- Wrist preparation
- Kneeling hip mobility
- Hip flexors

Listen
Relaxation audio recordings – elements

Over time we will be listening again to all of the recordings that are available free at the Relaxation Wiki at https://stretchtherapy.net/relaxation-wiki/, and pulling out what we call the ‘Elements' – that is of all the techniques that we use to induce deep relaxation. An example is working your way around the body part by part; another example would be the slow making of a fist, and reflecting on sensations in the body as we do these things.

Usually, each recording only has four or five of the many possible elements. If there's an element that you particularly like, scanning the Elements list will point you to the best ones for you. Likewise if there are elements that you're not fond of – the same process will eliminate the ones that will not work as well for you.

To get started, head to the Relaxation Wiki. Scroll down to the Relaxation Audion Recordings section (as below). If you’re new to relaxation practice, first listen to the ’Set up instructions for beginners’.
