We received the following question:

“Do you have any articles online on the importance of breathing/softening whilst stretching?”

ST Founder Kit Laughlin writes extensively about the importance of breathing in the context of stretching in his books. For those of you who have not read these, here are some key excerpts.

At the end of this article, find two updates from Kit, dated 2 March 2018 and 7 February 2023.

Sydney workshops, March/April 2023: Update

We are sorry to inform you we did not get the minimum numbers we needed to proceed with any of the three workshops in Sydney in March/April by the Early Bird registration date, 19 January, 2023. Accordingly, we have withdrawn these workshops.

We will be grateful if you care to drop us a note to let us know why attending one of these workshops was not for you—did you think they were too expensive?, or the timing wasn’t right for me, or any other reason. We would like to know as we are wondering if workshops are a still a valid means of getting our information to you post Covid (if, in fact, we are truly ‘post Covid). Any insight you can offer will be helpful.

Anyhow, once again, we apologise for needing to cancel the workshops—we were both looking forward to working with you. And if an opportunity to offer these again later in the year presents, we will let you know via this newsletter.

Notes from students

This session was fantastic! My legs feel tired but supple and strong. Same for my hips and my back. The single leg hamstring stretch was quite difficult as I was very tense. Good stuff!
