Newsletter no. 55 – Wednesday 3 September, 2025
This is the web-based version of Stretch Therapy Newsletter no. 55
We write this newsletter as spring dawns here in Australia.
Sunrise from our Kiama balcony.
Three headlines today:
1. The latest may not be the best
2. Do you need tech support for your website—meet Tony
3. Update on the old ST Vimeo-on-Demand site
One of the tendencies of modern humans is to search for the 'newest thing', the next, (possibly) 'best' thing. Social media is the most-recent iteration of the marketing machine that pushes the newest to the forefront.
2025 marks 30 years since the publication of Kit's first book, Overcome Neck & Back Pain, now in its 4th edition, followed by Stretching & Flexibility in 1999, now in its 2nd edition. The content of these books grew out of Kit's clinic sessions with many patients, ST teachers' work with thousands of students in classes at the ANU in Canberra over 27 years, and the experiences of attendees of hundreds of workshops around the world over 15+ years.
In brief, ST has been around for a while! The evolution of the system has been informed and improved by the experiences of ST teachers in their classes, and feedback from students directly. Many have said that the material on the website combined with the discussions on the forums is simply the best assembly of material on flexibility, mobility, and stretching anywhere on the planet.
Explore the free material across the ST website
The ST website contains a large amount of free material. We encourage you to explore and to share these resources.
Most importantly, devote time to practice: reading the articles and watching the videos can provide you with loads of information, but the key component is the 'doing'. Regular practice, over time, will enable you to find precisely what your body needs. You already know this, so ... get going, and keep going 😻
Head to the ST Wiki to find Articles, Videos, Relaxation recordings, Podcasts, and pages dedicated to information about, and exercises related to, Back Pain Relief, Piriformis Syndrome, and Myofascial Release.
If you need a bit of a guide to start, we suggest you head to the Email Newsletter Archive, scroll down to the bottom of the list and start with #1. This archive contains all newsletters since the current ST website was launched in 2021. The early ones cover the fundamentals of the ST system, and subsequent ones link to particular articles and videos, some from years back and others more recent.
Just like re-reading a favourite novel, when you revisit an article you think you recall with complete fidelity you may find you are reminded of details and/or gain new insights. When practicing an exercise you have not done for a while, you may notice it feels different; the sensations are different, the position is easier or you can move further.
Do you need tech support for your website?

Update on the old ST Vimeo-on-Demand site
We closed the ST Vimeo-on-Demand site a while back, however if you purchased there you are still able to access your programs.
Vimeo made a change to their system without letting us know. They have acknowledged that the original pathway for people to find their purchases has experienced an interruption and that their tech team are looking into it.
They confirmed that for now, once you have logged in to your Vimeo account, the pathway to use to access your Stretch Therapy program(s) is:
Face icon at top right > Settings > Billing > Purchases. There you can select an individual ‘Year’ from top right of the table, or ‘All’ is available from that dropdown. You’ll see all entries in ‘Item’ are hyperlinks – these will take you to your programs.
